I'm really liking our new church. There's something nice about being back in our own denomination. Finding a church in Oceanside was exhausting, so as long as this church was good and the kids liked it (and they LOVED it from day 1), we decided we would stay there. To my surprise, I am liking it more every week. There is a wonderful dynamic between the older, retired population and the younger families. So many times churches are either young or old, or have two different services which essentially make it two churches. Today, for example, many of the retirees wore their dress uniforms for the special Independence Day service. I was moved to tears to see how proud, even to this day, they are to wear that uniform.
After church was the picnic and classic car show in the parking lot. The church members provided the cars.
