I didn't really appreciate the weekends when Phillip was in seminary. He was home a lot between classes during the day. Now that he's working nearly 12-hour days, I have come to crave weekends. Kate and I found telescoping marshmallow sticks in the Target dollar section. We tried them out on Friday night.
Tonight we ate at a pizza place at the beach, got some coffee, and walked on the sand at sunset.
Here's a summer idea to try with the girls...Banana boats! Take an unpeeled banana. Cut out a thick sliver including the peel(to make a boat). Eat the sliver of banana, saving the peel. Now stuff the banana with stuff like peanut butter, chocolate chips, marshmallows, (whatever you like). Put the sliver peel back on to make a very stuffed looking banana. Wrap the wole thing with tim foil and put in on a hot grill. Let it cook for a few minutes (until gooey). Remove from grill and eat with a spoon, straight from the banana!!! By the time it's cooked, the banana has melted with the chocolate and marshmallows or whatever else you decide to include. It's SO yummy and way fun! Mitch and I always do this when we go camping. I used to do it with my kids at summer camp and they loved it. They found really creative ways to fill the bananas.

OH How I love the beach! Too bad Austin doesn't have one close by.
