We're off to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate Hannah's last day of school. Joy. Chuck E. Cheese is so ghetto. I mean, what other place comes to your table as asks if you want to buy a balloon for your kids? We didn't have a single dime on us last time since this world now functions on check cards and they wouldn't accept our Chuck E. tokens.
I heard a bit on the morning show in the car the other day. They were talking about all the places to eat in San Diego that haven't changed their decor in the last 40 years. Someone asked if Chuck E. Cheese was still the same and everyone said yes. If I hadn't forgotten my phone at home, I would have totally called in. It is not the same anymore! Where are the animal heads on the wall that sing? The movie theater under the stage? The ball pit where I lost my charm necklace in 2nd grade?
Speaking of places that haven't changed--someone called in and said he went to his mom's house and drank from a B-100 glass. Everyone laughed. I guess B-100 isn't around anymore. I remember that station was always on when we'd go to the pool on the base when we lived in San Diego. (You know that pool, the one where Iceman has his promotion ceremony in "Top Gun").
I am glad school is done, especially since Hannah has been talking of "my dream boy in 3rd grade named Todd" for 3 days now. Yikes! New school, here we come.
